Scottish writer has launched book one of a sprawling epic that promises to fill the void left by Star Wars.
Edinburgh-born author, Michael A. Gordon, has launched Barnaby Brown and the Time Machine, the first of a five-book saga based on the formula that inspired George Lucas.
With Barnaby Brown taking centre stage, this is an age-old story of an innocent bystander entering an exciting world of heroes whilst learning to overpower the villains who are lurking around unexpected corners just waiting to cause trouble.
Appealing to kids and adults alike, this is the perfect way to escape the reality of everyday life and dive deep into a world of adventure.
“The story begins right here on Earth,” says Michael. “Barnaby Brown and his friends discover his uncle, a particle physicist, has invented a time machine. Traveling to 1942, the uncle is captured by Nazis. Their only choice is to turn to his mum’s boss, arms manufacturer Darius Dent, to help rescue him. However, the evil Dent has plans of his own. Powered by an alien crystal, the machine’s use awakens the watchful eyes of beings that have been monitoring their use in the galaxy for millennia.”
Currently writing book five, Michael decided now was the time to officially launch book one. “I needed to ensure that the story was watertight before releasing it to the public. Fans invest in these novels and they need to know it won’t come to an abrupt end leaving feeling somewhat cheated and bereft,” he adds.
Packed full of laughs, love, tragedy, and swash-buckling adventure, the Barnaby series launched in July 2020 with book one, Barnaby Brown and the Time Machine.
It is available on Amazon for Kindle and paperback. The sequel, Barnaby Brown and the Baetylus Stones, will be released on September 28th this year with the other three books following in quick succession.
