5 ways to overcome allergy triggers

5 WAYS TO OVERCOME ALLERGY TRIGGERS

Between pet dander, pollen, and dust mites, allergy victims can take a thrashing when sunny weather makes its arrival. These allergy tips may help.

Overcome your allergies

The fact that they’re getting more severe and affecting more people-reactions to traditional airborne triggers like ragweed and pollen have risen in the past few decades because of pollution and global warming; the allergen season is getting longer, too.

Because the seasons have been beginning earlier and continuing longer, this means more exposure and lengthened reactions for many people.

But the message isn’t all wrong. Specialists agree that doing some preventative legwork can go a long way toward keeping reactions reduced. With that in mind, here’s how to get a handle on your triggers before they send you sniffling and sneezing for the hills.

5 WAYS TO OVERCOME ALLERGY TRIGGERS

  • Stay inside

Closing your windows and staying inside as much as you can is a great preventative measure, as is organising your time outside: Hot, dry days often suggest high pollen counts. In contrast, grey or rainy days tend to have lower levels.

  • Use a filter

Allergic or not, sometimes you want a warm summertime wind blowing through your home. For times like these, add an active filter to your window, which lets air in and keeps pollen out.

  • Find your triggers

Allergy testing may help you determine which triggers might be causing your symptoms and rule out others. Having the correct information can help you to manage your allergy better.

An allergy test can show an indication of your triggers.

It is not a diagnosis tool; please understand that only a doctor can give you an accurate allergy diagnosis. Any allergy test can be used alongside your unique medical background and your symptoms.

  • Cleanse gently

Scouring the skin with harsh soaps can damage it, removing away shielding cells, ending in easier infiltration of allergens. Another reason to lighten up when washing: The allergy-prone person is more inclined to experience eczema, corresponding with itchy, dry, red skin.

  • Change your clothes

Making a clothes change after you’ve been outside for lengthened periods is an excellent way to avoid the spread of allergens through your house. Keep the dirty clothes in an enclosed area until they’re clean. When you head for the washing room, use the hot water cycle to eradicate pollen, dust or ragweed debris.

The best natural remedy for allergies is, when possible, avoidance. Both doctors and natural healers will suggest that you limit or avoid allergens, which are what causes your allergic reaction.
